(AsiaGameHub) – An educational tool designed to stop match-fixing, introduced at BiS SiGMA South America 2026, received backing from Esportes da Sorte.
The sports integrity strategy focused on education and prevention, promoted by Esportes Gaming Brasil as a core element of the regulated industry, has expanded to a national level. The group, which operates the Esportes da Sorte brand, is supporting a new educational platform from the Ministry of Sport and the National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) aimed at teaching athletes how to spot and avoid match-fixing in sports betting.
Created by Sportradar, the online training program is accessible to all athletes and clubs throughout Brazil. The organization has previously held training workshops at several clubs sponsored by the brand, including Ferroviária, Náutico, Ceará, and Corinthians. This early initiative by Esportes da Sorte has now transitioned into a national public policy.
The platform was unveiled on Tuesday at the BiS SiGMA South America event in São Paulo during a panel with the group’s CEO, Darwin Filho. The executive noted that the project underscores the importance of education and prevention in maintaining sports integrity.
Darwin Filho stated:
We are convinced that prevention is the most efficient method for fighting match-fixing and safeguarding the fairness of sports. This tool was developed to broaden technical expertise and improve the response capabilities of athletes. Our objective is to foster a sporting landscape that is more transparent, secure, and honest.
Targeting athletes in various sports featured in betting markets, the platform aims to promote a culture of fair play and transparency. It is scheduled for release in May, according to project documentation.
Plínio Lemos Jorge, president of the ANJL, highlighted that the project solidifies sports integrity as a cornerstone of responsible gambling within a regulated framework.
ANJL president Plínio Lemos Jorge commented:
Match-fixing contradicts the goals of professional, licensed betting firms. These major companies operate both in Brazil and internationally, with many being publicly traded. Consequently, fair play and transparency are vital for the industry, and this collaboration with the Ministry of Sport is a tangible step toward that objective.
The platform’s curriculum is organized into modules approved by the participating organizations. It addresses the scope of the issue, its impacts, and preventative measures, drawing on standards from established regulated markets.
Felippe Marchetti, Sportradar LATAM Integrity Director, noted:
This collaboration is a vital move toward educating athletes and safeguarding those at high risk. Furthermore, our training platform will assist in educating law enforcement, helping them interpret reports and bolstering integrity efforts.
